LUGO EVENTS
DUNEDIN BRICK SHOW 2018
2018 was our first large show as an RLUG. We attracted 40 exhibitors from as far away as Auckland and Bluff with wonderful LEGO® creations. It was held on the weekend of October 6th & 7th at the More FM Arena.
This year we moved our main show from the Edgar Centre to the More FM Arena and people loved the new venue. A crowd of around 5,500 were treated to a great exhibition of both MOCs and LEGO® sets. The children (and adults) enjoyed the many and varied LEGO® related activities including LEGO car racing on our brand new Mitre 10 racing ramp, LEGO® tile making, LEGO® Robotics, kids LEGO® building and speed building competitions, LEGO® & Duplo® play pits plus finding the hidden crabs in our nautical co-lab display.
We raised $8,000 for this year's charity, Dunedin Parent's Centre.
We held our very first LEGO® show in Oamaru which we called Bricktopia on the weekend of April 21st & 22nd. The theme just had to be Steampunk with the show being held in the "Steampunk Capital" of New Zealand (and some say the world)
It was a wonderful fun-packed weekend held at the Oamaru Recreation Centre. Over 1,200 people attended the show and there were some brilliant Steampunk creations from our 15 exhibitors.

The other activities included LEGO® tile making, LEGO® car racing, find the hidden "Steampunk Minifigure" as well as LEGO® Robotics & children's LEGO® Building Competition. We had some very interesting visitors as show judges from the local Steampunk community. $600 was raised for the Active Kids Holiday Programme in Oamaru.
