LUGO EVENTS
2019 has started with two great events for LUGO. In April ten of our members exhibited at Dunedin's first Edge of the World Expo and at the end of May we held our first show in Central Otago choosing Cromwell as the location.
Central Otago had never experienced a LEGO event so LUGO decided it was time the locals enjoyed some LEGO activities and a wonderful display of MOCs and sets. 19 individual exhibitors from Christchurch, Dunedin, Central Otago & Queenstown created a display which thrilled the crowds who kept coming through the doors constantly. Over 2,500 people visited the show which filled the venue.
Activities included our large LEGO & Duplo play pits, Tile making which included an online competition, racing ramp, make your own LEGO mini figure & LEGObola.
We will be back in 2021 in a larger venue.
EDGE OF THE WORLD EXPO 2019
Edge of the World replaced Armageddon in 2019 and LUGO was invited to create a display to complement cosplay. Ten of our members put together a great display of sets and MOCs. We provided our LEGO play pit, tile making and some LEGO robotics. It is always fun displaying Star Wars sets while Storm Troopers, Daleks & Rocket Raccoon walk past. Around 2,000 people attended the show.
