LUGO EVENTS

DUNEDIN BRICK SHOW 2017

Our first large show held on September 30th - October 1st at the Edgar Centre in Dunedin was a huge success with 32 exhibitors (or groups of exhibitors) from Otago, Canterbury and Southland.

The crowd of around 8,000 were treated to a great exhibition of both MOCs and LEGO sets as well as enjoying the many and varied LEGO related activities including LEGO car racing, Glow Zone, Remote Controlled Racing course, Interactive Mine Craft and the fun of dueling Lord Doolin.

We partnered up with NRG (Next Rotary Generation) and show raised $8,500 for our chosen charity Chatbus.

BALCLUTHA BRICK SHOW

The Balclutha Brick Show was held on June 3rd & 4th. Hundreds of people visited the Balclutha War Memorial Hall to see 17 exhibitors showing off their Lego creations.

Balclutha's first Brick Show raised funds for ``distraction packs'' to be distributed to the district's volunteer fire brigades.

As well as 50 tables of Lego exhibits local kids designed their own creations which were displayed at the show for a competition.

The hosts the Balclutha Inner Wheel Club did an amazing job of looking after the exhibitors and thanks to Jimmy & Carmen for organising this event.

ARMAGEDDON

Armageddon was held in Dunedin on March 18th & 19th. A number of Lugo members exhibited at the show which attracted thousands of visitors over the two days.

There was a lot of interest in our group's exhibits over the weekend as it was one of the free activities at the show.

Keeping in theme with the show we showed off a variety of Star Wars, DC, Marvel, the Hobbit & LOTR sets as well as some MOCs.

It's always entertaining having some of crowd dressed in the same theme as the mini figures on display. There was even a cosplay person dressed as a mini figure.
